hit the snooze button.

The other day in my psych class, we did this little survey on sleep deprivation. I thought I'd put it up here just for fun? If you're really bored, go ahead and read along!

ARE YOU SLEEP DEPRIVED??

1. I
need
 an
alarm
 clock
in
order
 to
wake
up
in the
morning.
I do. I wonder if there's anyone who doesn't need one beside my mom?

2. It’s
 a
struggle
 for
me
to
get
out
of
bed
 in
the morning.
Hell yeah. Especially when it's raining/snowing/windy outside, which is what Vancouver is like pretty much everyday.

3. Weekday
mornings
 I
hit
the
snooze
bar several
 times
to
get
more
sleep.
Weekdays or not, I hit the snooze button at least 4 times before I decide whether to get up or not.

4. I
 feel
 tired,
irritable,
and
stressed
 out
during the
week.
Tired, yes. Irritable, not so much. Stressed out? I'm stressed at times, but not like all the time.

5. I
have
 trouble
concentrating
and remembering.
Ummm, only when it comes to schoolwork, then yes.

6. I
 feel
slow
with
critical
 thinking,
problem solving,
 and
 being
creative.
Again, only with schoolwork. I'm not slow!

7. I
 often
fall
asleep
watching
TV.
Haha, yes, UNLESS it's Glee or Gossip Girl.

8. I
 often
 fall
asleep
 in
 boring
meetings
or lectures
or
in
warm
 rooms.
Well, I can't help it if they're boring can I? I tried my best.

9. I
 often
fall
asleep
after
heavy
 meals
or
after
 a low
dose
of
alcohol.
Nah, I get high.

10.I
often
 fall
asleep
while
 relaxing
after
dinner.
Yes, and I blame baby for this.

11. I
 often
fall
asleep
 within
 five
minutes
 of getting
into
bed.
NOPE, never. I take at least 20 minutes to clear my mind.

12. I
 often
feel
drowsy
 while
driving.
No because that would be dangerous, ya know?

13. I
 often
sleep
extra
hours
on
weekend mornings.
By extra I mean triple my regular hours.

14. I
 often
need
a
nap
to
get
through
 the
day.
Probably, but I don't have time for naps, so no.

15. I
have
dark
circles
around
 my
eyes.
Panda is my middle name, thank you very much.

My score: 10/15

If you say YES to 4 or more, YOU ARE SLEEP DEPRIVED. *gasp*

Okay, me being sleep deprived is old news, but what about you? Leave a comment and let me know!

always my little boy.

Hello hello!

I am blogging from home sweet home right now. Normally it takes about...1.5 hours to get back to my Langley home from where I currently live. Unfortunately, today's untimely snowfall doubled my travelling time. I spent 1 freaking hour in the snow waiting for buses yet none came. When one finally did, it was so packed that I couldn't even get on. I had to catch another bus, take a detour to downtown, then transfer from there. The worse thing was that I was supposed to meet my little brother halfway so that we could go home together but my bus never came so I told him to leave first. We still managed to meet up at our second transfer zone (yeeeeeah Langley is so rural pffft) and waited for the only bus that could take us home (it only comes once every hour). So there goes my little journey of the day.

Speaking of my little brother, he turns 16 today! Happy Birthday to him!

Him being 16 is so surreal. He can officially drive, O-M-G. It seems just like yesterday when he was just my little baby brother, all chubby and shorter than me. Not sure what my parents have planned for celebration, but we'll see. I'm hoping for an ice-cream cake-I'm craving for some. (:

Oh! Here are some pix I promised you guys!

denim shirt-online; tank top-American Eagle; shorts-Romp; knee highs-Le Chateau

raglan top-American Eagle; belt-Garage

Spotted: me experimenting with some knee highs I bought a long time ago. Defo not the right weather to be wearing it. I am not that adventurous.

BTW, today was the last day for my workplace until the re-opening in April, which means I am temporarily jobless with no income. boooohooooo. How am I supposed to shop now?

DILEMMA.

Also, I've been spending my weekend catching up on Gossip Girl. This means I have been ogling at all the pretty (pretty expensive) stuff they're wearing.

Some pix so you get the idea.

See what I mean!?!

These are the times where I wish I hit the jackpot in lotto and win like a million dollars so I can buy all the pretty stuff in the world!

I know, I know it sounds really materialistic an all, but hey, a girl can dream eh? (:

the only exception.

One of my all time favorite songs. I think they did a great job.

And I've always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable distance.
And up until now I have sworn to myself
That I am content with loneliness
Because none of it was worth the risk
But darling, you are the only exception.

heads will roll

READING WEEK HAS COMMENCED.

[:

so as of today I get 1 week off from school! The down side is I still have two ongoing projects I need to work on as well as two midterms (on the same day) after the week.

They call it reading freaking week for a reason eh?

Also I will be getting more shifts this week=whoop more $$. I need them. Or I go hungry.

Speaking of work, look at what our store is selling now:

topsy turvy.

It's time to recap my week :DDDDDD

TUESDAY:

watched THE GREEN HORNET starring JAY CHOU with baby! I thought it was pretty good (supporting Jay Chou all the way)

Also, not forgetting outfit for the day-

plaid shirt and shorts-American Eagle; leggings-Sirens

WEDNESDAY:

LOOOONG DAY. Went to a reception that night; met a bunch of reps from different companies across the country, in hope to land an internship opportunity. I did not plan to go AT ALL, but my friend told me it was pretty important so I stayed back in school. Coincidentally it was a super sunny day, so I kind of dressed up nicely in my super nice blazer. Good call there, since the event was business formal, I didn't have to get home and get changed. :D

Here's what I wore to the event (too lazy to edit them)-

blazer- Talula; tank top- Garage; white frilly top- Blythe Zoo (online); leggings- Sirens; necklaces- American Eagle and H&M

I also paired this outfit with my super cute booties. I have yet to post up pictures of those.

THURSDAY:

I had a fun and chill lab for my pyrometallurgy class. We made iron, steel, and ore. We got to burn stuff and get shocked by unexpected sparks from the metals burning. It was like a little firework going on in the lab :D

Oh, and I lied about no more shopping: I bought A LABCOAT. D: It cost $20+. I was not happy about that.

(Didn't dress up that day because of the lab.)

FRIDAY:

Short day in school but a long shift at work. ): So tired I didn't take a picture of my outfit. Actually I don't even remember what I was wearing that day...

SATURDAY:

Another day at work. OMG. So there was this thing going on in the mall: selected stores will have a promotion limited for 1 HOUR ONLY. All the people Asians that knew about it swarmed into the store 20mins before the promotion began ($10 hoodies and stuff; they did not know about it until the promotion started) prodding around waiting to get a good deal. The moment it started they all went CRAZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I was trying to take care of the tables (ie. make them look presentable) but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO within a minute it was a complete mess. Sigh. Also you should see those faces when I announced there was only 3 minutes left until it ended. They were like hungry beasts digging around the pile of clothes for sizes. Apparently my co-worker had a customer coughed/spit in her face. Literally. Poor girl.

They did not know the original price of those hoodies without the promotion was only $12 (we had a really good clearance sale going on already). I didn't bother to tell them.

SUNDAY:

YET another day at work. I seriously think this one brown girl at work does not like me at all. ): Everyone else is really nice to me, except for her.

Anyway, after work I went straight to downtown to get my haircut!!!

I LOVE HAIRCUTS! I think the best part is when you get your hair washed before the cut. The worst is, hands down, when your hair is wrapped in the towel turban and you have to walk across the salon to your seat. I don't like flashing my forehead to the world k.

(I've posted picture of my new hair so I won't do it again here [: )

So that was my busy week! Wow, that was by far my lengthiest post on this blog.

--
Today (FEB 2) is Chinese New Years' Eve! Yay! I will be going home after school tonight. Definitely looking forward to mom's good food. What I am not looking forward to is studying for midterm next day.

OKAY. I am done. More updates to come soon! No promises!

This week:
Thursday(CHINESE NEW YEAR!)- Psychology midterm, Pyro lab deadline, Fluid mechanics assignment deadline
Friday- Philosophy essay deadline

FUN TIMES.

I have a feeling I won't be update until the end of the week, so HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR to whoever's celebrating!

Also, Happy Birthday in advance to my *little* brother! He turns 18 on FEB 4. (:

Signing out and going to bed now :D

Peace

Ainie.

Like my outfits? Hype it!

PS. Chatbox has been removed. I think the comment section will suffice. No need for both.

Jan/25

Birthday post

I must say, you don't look like you're in your twenties AT ALL. hahas. Is that a good thing, or no? I think as long as you're still in school it's good to look young :D I hope by the time you start working at a hospital your patients will take you seriously!!

It's been many years since we first acknowledged each other in class (like 7 years?) It's been many years since we last saw each other face to face (2.5 years?) I know we haven't been talking as much as we thought we would be, when we both cried non-stop in class that morning my leave was confirmed (sobs).

Many things have changed and life is too fast paced to be keeping track on everything, but I cherish every moment we have on msn! Whenever we have our convo/group chat, it's like I'm falling back into this molded life that I am perfectly used to. All seem better, like I'm back to life in Malaysia. I miss it a lot; I miss you all a lot. Friendship here is sometimes shallow; there isn't one girl that I can tell everything to!

Still keeping these safely in my wallet :] it's sad how this is the most recent memory I have with you.

ANYWAYS, I've completely gone off a tangent here, lol. What I was planning to say is, I can't wait to see you again! I want to see if you've grown any taller (: Also, I hope by the time I see you you will weigh more than 40kg :( You have 7 months to work on that ok?

love,
Chip.

procrastination.

the most beautiful discovery true friends make is that
they can grow separately without growing apart.

I'm working on my pyromet. assignment. Excel is so amazing, yet so annoying. I'm so exhausted from work. My feet are sore. My left index finger is bruised. All the price for building an awesome wall display. I swear if I see a customer screwing up my wonderful display I will glare at them ruefully-then clean up their mess with grudge.

sadface. Judging by my assignment, I really don't like where my major is heading right now.

willow.

fully loaded yummy goodness.

I've been craving this awesome taco salad ever since I had it two weeks ago. It's effing huge-I only got to almost half of the plate and I couldn't take it anymore-and it doesn't hurt your pocket at all.

It's the beginning of week 2 in class and I have still yet to purchase and sell my textbooks. I haven't skipped a class so far, but I cannot promise anything starting week 3, haha.

Judging by my schedule, I have a lot of readings to do (3 arts/writing courses) and many essays to look forward to. I still want to do some leisure reading though. I've been putting that off ever since school started in September. Any good reads out there? Suggest me! :D

I might just start with some Jodi Picoult.

(:

Vancouver is predicted to have snow fall throughout the week. I have serious doubts about that. Care to bet? It's gonna be slushies all the way. Mommy says Langley is covered in snow already.

Stay safe and warm everyone!

"You don't have to say I love you to say I love you," you said with a shrug. "All you have to do is say my name and I know."
"How?"
When I looked down at you, I was struck by how much of myself I could see in the shape of your eyes, in the light of your smile. "Say Cassidy," you instructed.
"Cassidy."
"Say...Ursula."
"Ursula," I parroted.
"Now....," and you pointed to your own chest.
"Willow."
"Can't you hear it?" you said. " When you love someone, you say their name different. Like it's safe inside your mouth."

HAPPY 2011! YAY!

Just thought I should say that here before the day ends...I'm exhausted from 3 days of gathering, dinners, sleepover and party. woots! Way to end 2010.

I welcomed 2011 happily intoxicated, with a hint of sa
dness that has no source.

(:

I'm okay, after I take a rest tonight, ahah. Need to save some energy for tomorrow's shift!

Will update more after work tomorrow!

Random thought: I really, truly hate cats.

FREEDOMMMM

it tastes like orange juice :D

I am officially done with my finals for the term! Surprisingly, the last paper turned out to be my best out of 5: very glad indeed. I think I love Math.

However, I am yet to be posting something interesting due to the lack of excitement in my life, presently. Right now I am home due to parents' request (mom complaining how much she misses me..), just chilling in my room. Gonna head back to VanCity tomorrow though. Why?

PARTAYYYYY! To celebrate the end of finals+Christmas :D That also means I WILL have some material to blog about. hah.

Oh, look what I got in the mail.

New bus pass. (Sorry it's so blurry, I took it with my webcam. But it's all good b/c that picture of me is just fugly.)

I don't like it yellow :/ I don't like hate my photo.

Okay, I am done for now. I promise an outfit post by tomorrow if I don't pass out!

toast

roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr hellos (:

Pardon me for being M.I.A. for the past couple of days-I've been preparing for my thermodynamics final by annotating loads of solutions. That's how I study for finals: solution annotation, and learn what I need to know from there, especially with calculation questions.

The exam itself was pretty tough if compared to past exams :S I only managed to solve 1 question fully (there were 4 in total). I didn't have enough time either because I spent a whole hour on that one question. Not to mention I was 5 minutes late for the exam: so embarrassing walking into the room panting while everyone looked up from their papers momentarily just to stare at you! geez, if only the bus was not 10 minutes late.

ANYWAY, enough rant about finals, they're no fun.

After that brutal 2.5 hrs, I went straight to work (American Eagle). Today at work I realized something: my canto is real crap. There was this customer who doesn't speak English well came up to me and asked if I speak Canto. I was caught off guard rightaway but told her I do. So I helped her picked out the stuff she wanted to buy and at so many point during the entire conversation I found myself at a loss of words ): so I used English to replace those words instead. The good thing is she didn't tease my broken Cantonese at all. Such a nice lady!

I did dress up today (for work-entire outfit w/AE) but I was too lazy to take any pictures. Sorry guys! I'll do one tmr? (:

So I thought I'd do a quick review of some products I'm loving and recommending to you readers. Hope you guys like it!

DISCLAIMER: I purchased all these items myself and am not affiliated with any of them.

PRODUCT 1: SKINFOOD RICE MASK WASH OFF

This is my ultimate favorite product! The product is a wash off mask, but I use it as an exfoliator. It does wonders! Whenever my skin feels really dull, I just use this after cleansing my face. It contains little particles (rice?) that are not harsh at all and exfoliate your skin really gently. It only takes 1 minute max: just massage it on dried face and rinse! Voila! I swear my skin feels extra squeaky clean right after I use this (: You can literally feel+see the difference it makes.
Use this product once every three/four days. The particles are really gentle so the product won't dry out your skin as harsh as other face exfoliators.

RATE: 5/5!

PRODUCT 2: BENEFIT THAT GAL BRIGHTENING FACE PRIMER

This is something I added to my routine very recently. I am not a foundation person. The closest thing I use to foundation is BB cream. One time I was browsing in Sephora I stumbled upon this product and I thought I'd give it a try. Now it has officially replaced my SkinFood BB Cream :D
Of course, both products give very different effects. Since this is a primer, it doesn't provide coverage, but I find it evens out my skin tone overall. It has a pink tint and smells absolutely wonderful. The greatest think about it is the texture: it's like a moisturizer (tinted moisturizer maybe?) and it doesn't cake on your skin. That's the ultimate reason why it replaced my BB Cream as my everyday perk-me-up. As mentioned, the downside is no coverage, but it's only a primer after all.

shop this at Benefit Cosmetics or Sephora (click away!)

RATE: 4/5!

PRODUCT 3: AG HAIR COSMETICS FAST FOOD

So this is a leave-in conditioner I've been using for quite some time. It detangles and softens your hair, very suitable for someone with bushy hair like me (: Sometimes I forget to apply this after shower and the next day my hair looks superdry (then I immediately put some on before I leave the house). This products lasts really long since you only use very little each time. I'm still on my first tube! A little goes a long way (: Recently, I've been using this product in combination with a drop of jojoba oil. This was actually a trick taught by baby lol. This combo actually worked even better!

read/shop at AG Hair Cosmetics! (click click)

RATE: 5/5!

Okays, so that's all my review for now. I hope you guys enjoyed this little post w/my honest opinion and maybe find it helpful! It's really late now ): and I have work tmr morning too. I'm gonna think about what to wear to work tmr haha.

Oh, I have yet to discover the perfect concealer for my freaky dark circles, any recommendations? Leave me a note!

(no title)

I know my blog has been quite dry without new pictures, bear with me. It's finals season and I'm having my first one on the 8th (thermodynamics). I have no clue what will the final cover, nor do I know if it is open book/notes or not. Ultimately, I haven't started reviewing (or in my case, learn the content).

):

Baby is here happily playing his games. Humph. Very intense. Lots of people-eating, building-hopping going on. also some random swearing.

The only thing that will cheer me up is the Coach I am possibly purchasing after my first paper. LOL. Talk about retail therapy. It always work on me.

Maybe that should be my motivation. If I study real hard and do well on my thermo paper, then I can by the bag with no regrets. If not, tsk tsk, no Xmas pressie for myself!

Haven't been dressing up these days, hence no outfit post ): even for work last night-I only wore plain t-shirt and jeans. bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Imma try studying now, maybe another post soon?

Happy Birthday Daddy!

First of all, Happy Birthday to my dearest Daddy! :D I came home especially for you! We had Dairy Queen ice-cream cake so yummy and took some pictures as a family :DDDD (it's very rare when that happens cuz we don't like to take pictures.)

----

So when I got back home and checked the mail, I saw this letter from COACH that was addressed to somebody named "Wendy Tan". Obviously the mail was sent to our house by mistake (the address was our address though), and it's not like we're gonna find out who it belongs to, and omgwtf it's from Coach of course I wanna know what it's about, so I opened it. Yep I opened a mail that is not addressed to me ): I'm a bad girl. But really I couldn't resist. And there it was, inside the envelope, an invitation to shop at Coach + 25% discount!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

25% off Coach is a BIG DEAL. I'm pretty sure anybody can use it....there's no name on the invitation...just a code....but wow, you know I would love to have a Coach to carry around (look at my wishlist from my last post) WHO WOULDN'T WANT A COACH?!

quote mommy: what you're gonna spend the money you earn just like that?

yes mom, I've been doing that all this time :'(

So what do I do? It expires on the 12th. IF, IF I do go buy myself a xmas pressie from Coach, I'd still be spending loads even with the 25% discount. Then again, when will you ever get an opportunity like this again?! (don't say outlet, it's located in the states and I can't go there:/)

Leave me a comment and give me your opinion, lol.

It was the last day of the term today! I only went to 1 out of 4 classes, har har. Die in finals.

Anyway, no pics for today. I'm spending the night at home and heading back tmr since I have work at night. blahhh.

xo,
A.

ps. I still feel bad about opening other ppl's mail okayyy. Sorry Wendy Tan

pps. I don't like how I'm not able to change font color on this skin.

double rainbow all the way.

yo peoples.

It's Saturday night! For once in a very long time I stayed in all day with baby. What a bliss. We only stepped out just now to get DQ blizzard right on the next street. Yummmm ice cream :D

I've discovered a couple of interesting websites recently. Do check these out!

This website is like an advice column. You just type in a question, and if yours gets picked the blogger give you advice in the next post. She's really straightforward. Her advices probably hurt, but it's quite interesting-overall just for some laughs.

Now this tumblr is really funny :p the blogger edits pictures of celebrities with random captions. Also just for laughs :D

Have you guys checked out the youtube movie "Agent of Secret Stuff" (A.S.S.) by Nigahiga and WongFuProductions? It's pretty awesome! I assure you will like it and when the movie ends you will be complaining how 35mins is not enough! It's a great production featuring many youtubers.

Here's the link:

I watched it by myself but I like it so much I'm gonna watch it again with baby later (:

BTW, here's the answer to my POP QUIZ!

Bomber Jacket: gift from England

Grey Hoodie: Bluenotes; Loop Scarf: UBC Gift Fair; Raglan Long-sleeve: TNA; Striped tank: online; White tank: Bluenotes; Jeggings: American Eagle; Leggings: Sirens

TOTAL COUNT: 8!!!!!!

Haha I was sneaky. Yes I wore my leggings underneath my jeggings and wow it actually kept me warm. The scarf was one of the goodies I bought from my school's gift fair :D

So what do you think of my orange hair?

hwaaaaaaaaaaat?

I'm gonna be writing this post and watching the Ellen DeGeneres Show at the same time (: best talk show ever! Ellen is lols.

Anybody noticed we're exactly a month away from Christmas?!! Well, at least it is for me. I am excited b/c I love the mood in shopping malls during Christmas season-so it should be fun at work!

Hmm, as promised by the Weather Network, I woke up to heavy snow and just got home from disgusting slushie rivers and lakes. yuck. I wish it snowed more so they will close down UBC. I'm also wondering what if they really have to close down during finals? What would happen then? If they're postponing the exams till post-Christmas I won't be happy :/ Also, I will need to get meself some rainboots. I've been saying that for months but I didn't want to pay that $90 bucks for those boots...I really need them though, because I came home just now with soaked feet ):

(just realized that Ellen show is a rerun. Is it because it's Thanksgiving in the states?)

Okay I've bored you enough! Enjoy the pics!

Denim shirt: online; white tank top: Bluenotes; Patterned Tights+Braided Belt: American Eagle; Nails: OPI Gargantuan Green Grape

I had a lot of fun taking these pictures (: photoshoots are fun once in a while. I wish I had a better background though (and maybe a tripod...)

more pics w/the boots here

Boots: Sirens. Gift from baby :D

Comfort is ultimate these days especially when the weather is getting worse. I only bother to dress up decently when I have enough time before I rush to the busstop. ;p

(watching Friends now.)

Time to do some Math hw! But before I leave you guys, here's a POP QUIZ!

I threw on a lot of layers today! Guess many pieces of items am I wearing in the picture? (plz exclude shoes, socks and undergarment kthx)

Leave your answer in the comment section (:

OMG I forgot I was doing laundry,

even angels have their wicked schemes

I think I'm on a roll here.

I can't believe the term is going to be over in a week or so. That's like, the end of the first half of my 2nd year, omg. I am not looking forward to my finals b/c I'm so very behind on 3 out of 5 of my courses. Sigh. What a slacker. I'm not study material tbh. After what I've gone through in IB, as well as how bad first yr went (I didn't pass with flying colors), I still procrastinate a lot, skip classes, sleep in...I think I need help/motivation, lol.

Oh oh, anybody watch Hellcats? The drama starring Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka? I've been watching it, mainly b/c I know they film on my campus ;p I first noticed them filming during March/April, which was pretty cool, since the show is about cheerleaders. Then one day I was flipping through channels and saw Hellcats on air, and I was like, OMG THAT'S IRVING BARBER IN THE BACKGROUND (one of the libraries) so yeah, I'm hooked.

Here's my point: they were shooting scenes on campus today! And I just stood there in the snow watching them shooting the scene w/one of the cheerleaders (I saw Heather Hemmens!) So yeah, I thought it was pretty cool. (:

Btw, did you guys know that they shoot some scenes from Eclipse on our campus too? Cool right? UBC is awesome :D

and no, I didn't see Rob. boo.

Hmm yeah, I felt like sharing this w/my lovely readers (not that many yet..)

Weather network says there's gonna be more snow overnight, then rain tmr morning. Oh noes, not looking forward to slushies. :/

Leave you w/a preview of my next outfit post. (:

Toodles,
A.
